Love, it can easily be defined within your family. Let me tell you how the past years of my life has been a life long journey in defining what love is, thanks to my family. Love is when my Oto-san (Father) would spend all his day at our farm under the scorching sun and wouldn’t care how the grass cuts his feet for as long as I would have something to eat. Love is when my Oka-san (Mother) finds time to have small talks with me and kiss me on my cheeks after even if she is so busy. They both made me understood that Love is sacrifice. When I was young, love was also abundant. It happens whenever my little sister Hiroko would let me sleep beside our parents even though it’s her turn, It also happens when she gives me her share of chocolates and apples even if she craves for more, and in return I give her my vegetables. She showed me that love should be shared. These are experiences which defined love to me, but the best of them all is when my 93 year old Oba-san (Grandmother) showed me the last definition of it. Oba-san has Alzheimer’s disease she no longer recognizes me, the once young kid who sits on her lap and sleeps on her bosoms. Last week when I held her hand to pay my respects she looked at me and asked “Mr. have you seen my little grandson, If you do please tell him that I miss him. Boy has he grown so fast! I’ve heard that he has a job now and works in the city. He is very dear to me and I love him so much”. Tears ran from my eyes and from that day she made me realize that love never fades. Finally with the help of my family love is now clear to me, thanks to all of them.
